Aligners on teeth extremeDo you have misaligned teeth that you’d like to straighten but want to avoid the look of traditional metal “train track” braces? We’ve got good news—with Invisalign clear aligners, you can achieve a straighter smile without the need for metal wires or brackets.

How Does It Work?

Virtually invisible, the Invisalign system uses an innovative approach to straighten your teeth. This popular orthodontic treatment consists of a series of custom-made removable trays that are personalised to address your smile goals. Simply wear these aligners, made of virtually invisible plastic, over your teeth to gradually shift them to the ideal position. Perhaps best of all, most people won’t even notice you’re wearing the trays so you can straighten your smile inconspicuously!

Issues That Can Be Addressed

With this clear aligner system, we can address the following issues:

  • Teeth crowding
  • Minor misalignment
  • Minor bite problems

What to Expect

First, you’ll meet with our dentist who will establish if you are a candidate for treatment. If so, they will take scans of your teeth and 1-2 weeks later show you your customised ClinCheck movement movie. We’ll give you a complete estimate of how long your treatment should take, and provide you with a mockup of how your teeth will look when the treatment is over. Once you are happy with your treatment plan, the Invisalign lab will craft your trays and you can return in 1-2 weeks to start the treatment.

Another benefit of opting for the Invisalign system is you’ll only need to visit our practice for checkups throughout the process to ensure everything is moving as it should, but the frequency of visits is minimal, on average every 6 weeks.

Why Choose Clear Aligners?

  • Aesthetic Appeal: Clear aligners are nearly invisible, allowing for a discreet treatment option compared to traditional metal braces.
  • Comfort: Aligners are more comfortable than traditional metal braces.
  • Convenience: Aligners are removable, making it easy to eat, drink, brush, and floss without restrictions.
  • Customised Treatment: Each aligner set is tailored to fit your teeth precisely for effective treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Invisalign aligners comfortable?

For the most part, yes. You may experience minor discomfort at various times such as when your teeth are shifting or when you place and remove the aligners. Unlike metal braces, however, Invisalign trays are unlikely to cause mouth irritation.

Why do you choose to offer this orthodontic option?

Because the system utilises clear aligners, it’s not visible in the mouth. Invisalign trays are also easy to wear and because they are removable, you can eat what you want and brush with ease, which isn’t the case with metal braces. There are many other clear aligner systems on the market but Invisalign is the market leader – and we want you to have the best results possible.

How long will my treatment take?

Because every patient is different, we won’t be certain until we perform an assessment. Your treatment time could be as little as six months or over 18 months.

How long does treatment take?

The duration of treatment varies based on individual needs but typically ranges from 6 to 18 months.

How often do I need to return?

You’ll have visits to our practice every 4-6 weeks to change out your aligners and check your progress.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?

For optimal results, aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only for eating, drinking, and oral hygiene.

Are there any dietary restrictions with aligners?

No! In fact, it’s one of the most important advantages of choosing aligners.
